How to Embed a Poll in a WordPress Blog
1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
2. Open the 'Plugins' section of the WordPress dashboard and click 'Add New.'
3. Type 'WP-Polls' in the search box and press 'Enter.' Click the 'Install Now' link under 'WP-Polls' when it appears on the results list.
4. Click 'OK' and 'Activate Plugin.'
5. Open the new 'Polls' menu in the lower-left corner of the dashboard and then click 'Add Poll.'
6. Click the 'Question' field and type the question that you would like your readers to respond to.
7. Click the 'Answer 1' field and type the first possible answer for the poll. Continue this process until you have added all of the answers that you would like your readers to choose from. Click the 'Add Answer' button to add additional answer spaces if needed.
8. Change the drop-down menu next to 'Allow Users to Select More Than One Answer?' if you want your readers to have the ability to select multiple options in the poll. The menu below allows you to define a maximum number of answers that one person can select.
9. Use the 'Start Date/Time' fields to select when the poll should become active on your website. By default, the poll becomes active immediately. Remove the check from the 'Do Not Expire This Poll' check box if you want to define an ending time for the poll.
10. Click the 'Add Poll' button.
11. Open the 'Appearance' section of the WordPress dashboard and select 'Widgets.'
12. Drag the 'Polls' widget to the sidebar area on the right side of the page. By default, the widget displays the most recent poll that you have created.
13. Click the 'Save' button to begin displaying the poll in the sidebar of your website.
