How to Rename a WordPress Theme in the Dashboard

1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard. Click on 'Editor' in the Appearance panel to open the file editor.
2. Open the theme's primary style sheet (style.css). Examine the top of the file.

3. Locate the theme name declaration:/*Theme Name: Expositio ThemeAuthor URL: http://www.wpshower.comDescription: Expositio is a free portfolio-type WordPress theme for photographers and designers. 4. Change the declared theme name in the 'Theme Name' field. If desired, change the author, author URL and description.
5. Click on 'Update File.' You'll see an error warning, letting you know the declared theme name doesn't exist. Click on 'Refresh' and you'll be returned to the file editor. Click on 'Themes.' You'll see the new theme name updated in the theme manager.
