How to Change Your WordPress Username

1. Log in to your WordPress account as usual.
2. Open your profile control panel. On the left-hand menu of the dashboard, scroll down to the 'Users' widget and click on 'Your Profile.'

3. Change your public username display. This is also called a nickname. Enter your desired new public username in the field that says 'Nickname (required).' In the field directly below that, which reads 'Display name publicly as,' select your new username from the drop-down menu. There is no need to save your settings prior to doing this; the drop-down menu will automatically populate with your new username. Click on the 'Update User' button at the bottom of the screen. Your new public username is now changed.
