How to Add a Template File to WordPress

Add Template from the Internet
1. Log in to WordPress. From the dashboard, click 'Appearance' on the navigation bar on the left. The 'Themes' section will be displayed.
2. Click the 'Install Themes' tab. You will be taken to the 'Search' page where you can search for free WordPress templates online.

3. Type a word or phrase in the search box under 'Search for themes by keyword, author or tag.' Choose the category from the drop-down list on the left. By default this is set to 'Term.'
4. Filter the search to narrow your options. This is useful if you want specific features in the theme. For example, if you want only a white-colored theme with two columns, check those options in the filter section. Click 'Search.'
5. Review the search results. To see a template preview, click 'Preview.' For additional information about the template, click ' Details. To install, click 'Install' instead.
6. Click 'Install Now.' After installation, you can preview the theme as it would look on your blog or activate it. Otherwise you can return to the theme installation page to add more templates.
